Don’t let your ideas and dreams fall by the wayside. Action is better than no action. As someone who has started and stopped my own YouTube channel one too many times, I’ve learned the importance of staying the course even when I don’t feel like it. It’s easy to get discouraged when you don’t see the results you envisioned for yourself, a situation has caused you to put things on hold, or maybe you don’t like the way things have turned out. While all of these are fair reasons, I’ve also learned that operating from how you feel rather than revising the plan, can be detrimental. It causes you to stop altogether, rather than rerouting and trying again. Now that I understand this, there’s no going back. Having a clear vision encourages me to keep going even when “life is lifing”. The Oh Hey Fatima Show is a true testament to this!
The Oh Hey Fatima Show S1 EP2 is all about making do with what you have and sticking to your budget. As a girl who loves to shop and dreams of indulging in the finer things of life, living within my means is a major lesson I had to learn. I wanted to capture this in this episode, and using the different tiers of body lotion was the perfect example. We see in S1 EP1 that Fatima has made up her mind that she wants to move into her own apartment. And if you’ve ever moved, especially when it’s your first place, it can be costly. With this new goal, Fatima has to learn how to spend wisely, even if it means using rewards points at her favorite fast food restaurant. Being financially responsible can be hard, but the discipline is worth it. And hey, there’s nothing wrong with treating yourself when you can afford to. Even if it’s a pack of cookies.
The Oh Hey Fatima Show is loosely based on my own experiences and has given me the chance to share my story in a fun, creative way. Growing up, I always wanted to be on TV. I wanted to be on Zoom on PBS, I wanted to be on Disney Channel, and I wanted to be on Nickelodeon.
